RICKY GERVAIS MOVIE TRAILER TO SUPPORT VARIETY CLUB CHILDREN'S CHARITY THROUGHOUT THE UK

From 15th February 2008, Ricky Gervais, star of The Office and Extras is to appear in a cinema trailer for The Variety Club Children's Charity.

The trailer will be screened at ODEON, Cineworld, Curzon Cinemas, Empire Cinemas, Picture House, The Screens and Vue Cinemas.

The 20 second trailer will be broadcast throughout February 2008 and aims to increase awareness of The Variety Club, which supports sick, disabled and disadvantaged children and encourage members of the public to join its Friends of Variety Scheme.

The trailer sees Ricky narrate and star in a scene with some cheeky children from The Bridge School in North London. The Bridge School and Variety Club have had a strong relationship for a number of years and parents, pupils and Bridge School staff jumped at the opportunity to work on such an exciting project.

Ricky Gervais said:
"In the last few years, I've seen the difference Variety makes to disadvantaged children. Making the trailer was a great laugh and I hope the kids from Bridge School enjoyed it as much as I did."

John Sachs of the Variety Club said:
"It is fantastic that Ricky is able to support the Variety Club and raise awareness of our vital work for children whilst providing a cinematic experience that will both educate and inform children and adults throughout the UK. It is an honour for Variety Club to be able to call Ricky a Friend of Variety."

The trailer was created by Variety Club long time supporter and film director Susannah Hayes and his team at Product International at no charge whatsoever to The Variety Club.
